Hi Everyone,

I hope this isn't confusing but found this site while researching my symptoms and someone out there may have an idea on where i should go next regarding relief, tests, seeing a dr etc.

When i was 12 i was sick off school for about 5 weeks with stomach pain and fatigue. I can't remember it really well now but do remember not feeling myself and mum and dad said i was always an energetic child so knew it was something when all i wanted to do was lay in bed all day and i lost a bit of weight. the dr put it down to mesenteric adinitis (sorry if wrong spelling) because all other tests for glandular fever, ross river virus etc came back clear.

at the beginning of this yr i went to a dr about pains in the bottom right. an ultra sound showed a normal sized appendix but a slightly enlarged lymph node. the dr's response to this was that adults rarely get this but its the same thing as mesenteric adinitis and is caused from a virus. it went away after several weeks.

About 3 weeks back i had the flu for about 4 days and it turned into a really bad cough and vomiting so i saw a dr. he put me on antibiotics for suspected infection/bronchitis.

I have gotten over the worst of the infection fine but 2 days ago woke up with sinus congestion like a cold all over again. i also got sharp stabbing pains in the bottom left side of the abdomen again but worse than at the beginning of this year. I went to bed and tried to ignore it and finally fell asleep. this morning i woke up fine but by mid afternoon there was stabbing pains there again like what i had at the beginning of the year.

I do suffer from mild food intolerance with symptoms like bloating and constipation but last night i had no symptoms apart from the stabbing pain that was making me cripple over. today however i have had bloatiness and have been to the toilet several times without feeling like i've properly been if that makes sense.

from all those symptoms, whether related or not, can anyone pick what i should do and where i should go from here? I dont think the pain is the appendix and dont want to see a dr if its a swollen lymph node like last time.

by the way i also have a very swollen lympth gland in the neck if that means anything?

I just need some ideas on whether i am over reacting or someone can actually see some sort of cause for these problems!

thanks :)

What antibiotic did you take? Do you have any diarrhea? Some antibiotic side effects can be the cramping you are describing, and this can occur after you have stopped taking it. Please look up your med on www.drugs.com and see if you could be experiencing a side effect from the antibiotic. Also, antibiotic use can cause candida overload, which can cause sinus symptoms, IBS symptoms, and others. Taking a good PROBIOTIC can help keep your intestinal flora in check. This will in turn strengthen your immune system...a good PROBIOTIC is found at any good health food store. I agree with RadSkw that if you are in crippling pain you need to get checked out asap. Best wishesDOM
