For a couple of years now I have been having really bad, unbearable pains in my stomach right after i eat and within the next couple of minutes i have to go to the bathroom. Now i know it's not irritable bowel, or lactose. I have been through many test at the doctors theere is not one i can not name that i have not taken yet or been through. Now i have bleeding when i go to the bathroom not all the time but when i do its sometimes on the toilet paper or in my stool. Yet to top everything off ins dihrea most of the time and i have really bad cramps, i get sweaty and nausous and blotchy all over my skin. My doctors have yet to come up with anything other than its bacteria they gave me an antibiotic but it made my pain worse... please if you happen to have something similar or know of anything let me know...thanks

  • I hate to say it, but it DOES sound like Irritable Bowel. Or severely irritated Diverticulosis.See a gastroenterologist with copies of ALL those test results. Get that one doctor (an expert in the area you're having a problem with, not a general practitioner) to take control of the situation so you don't have to keep duplicating efforts. He'll be able to rule out Diverticulosis based on a colonoscopy and will also be able to rule out other structural defects. For about a week before you see this doctor, keep a diary of EVERYTHING you eat, including pills, vitamins, herbs, etc. Make note of how soon after you eat it that you have the problem. Note also pain, sweats, etc. That will give him the big picture much faster. Make sure to tell him how long this has been going on (I assume you haven't been having this problem for your entire life). It'll help find the trigger that kicked it off (probably a change in diet). It sounds like diverticulosis to me. It stayed quiet until she started trying to eat healthier; then the nuts and seeds she was eating inflamed her colon and started the same symptoms. If so, the GE can diagnose it and help you fix your diet to alleviate the symptoms and then start repairing the damage. My roommate has almost no trouble now, but she does have to be careful of the amount of undigestible roughage she eats, and she can't have raw veggies (cooked are fine). Whole grains are best, as long as they're cooked. If you're structurally fine (no diverticulosis), then you may have to look into food allergies. It sounds like maybe celiac disease, since you react so badly to so many things. You may need to see an allergist and go on an elimination diet to figure out what's causing the problem, but once you find the source, eliminating that food (or its group, if applicable) should solve the problem. Once an adult grows into a food allergy, you aren't going to grow out of it again, so you'll be stuck with it.The bleeding sounds like irritation rather than systemic. Your system has to be pretty inflamed and raw by now. Don't worry too much about it unless the GE says otherwise.Good luck.

  • This is one of my many problems as well. For years, my family would actually bet on how long it would take me to leave the dinner table. In my tweties it got wrose and now I am 34 and it still happens. Dr. right away diagnosed me with Crohn's disease with just an X ray of abdomen! ( GOOF ) Then went to gastro Dr and did colonoscopy found that I have ulc. colitis. It comes and goes unlike Crohn's that is there chronically. However, I never really feel mine going anywhere. I take no meds for it and basically am so used to it. One good thing that sounds crazy is I am female and NEVER gain any weight! Still same size 3 from high school! I know that is sick thinking but that is another of my problems LOL . Also at times I do see blood too. I was told just from all the activity going on there. The one thing I am worried about your problem that you didn't say though, does your pain go away after you relieve yourself? Mine severe pains go after I do. If your pain conttinues, then I would think you may want to check for Crohn's. Did you have colonoscopy?
