My 15 y.o. son has extreme hunger, excessive thirst, intermittent blurry vision, irritability, unusual tiredness. These symptoms all point to diabetes (which there is a great deal of familial history both Type 1 and 2), however, random blood finger-****k testing shows normal blood sugar. Any other ideas???
Pediatric dr. doesn't seem overly interested in getting to the bottom of this. He has gained 40 pounds and is eating us out of house and home. Difficult to rise in morning because of multiple nightly wakenings to urinate due to excessive liquid intake (anywhere from gallon to two gallons of fluids intake in the late afternoon/evening hours).
Thanks in advance.
