Hi all! I am a 39 yr old f and have always been healthy until recently! I had an emergency appendectomy in Sept and things have gone down hill from there wondering if its all related?
Here are my symptoms to which Dr says everything is normal and just prescribes 800 mg ibuprofen and occasional antibiotics. I started with abdominal pain but it has mostly subsided I now have what I describe as the worst headache possible and its almost constant ( to the point I am losing my mind or feel like it anyway) I have severe joint pain Ankles hip buttocks arm neck shoulder. I Have chest pain it is under the left breast and stays constant for approx 30 - 45 minutes and is severe to the point of crying. I have a very high pain tolerance as well! The headaches are mostly in the back of my head but they once in awhile are in the front on the left side and I can feel the arteries bulging. I get a pain in my left eye with a vision problem its like everything is underwater kinda wavy very wierd feeling. I have had normal blood work or what the DR called normal my triglycerides were very high at 359 and my white blood count was low at 3200 but he says its normal and to watch my diet ( I only eat helathy foods) the pain in my legs begins in the left buttocks area and radiates down my leg to my toes I get numbness and tingling in all extremities regularly. I am about to lose my mind I can not handle the pain any longer I snap at everyone constantly it hurts to just got to the grocery store have to stop often due to the pain. Any Ideas????? Any help will be greatly appreciated. the Dr. says Rhematology # was in range as was glucose. Any ideas on any other tests that might be done or what I could possibly have thats causing all of this could it all be related to the appendecitis? My appendix did not rupture but was told had I waited another 24 hrs they would have. Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • visit www.womentowomen.com you need to lower your triglicerides fast. too long in the system will cause kidney and liver damage and other very serious problems. Toxin build up in your body may be causing these headaches coupled with high blood pressure caused by high triglicerines. Doctors are pretty much uneducated about all this stuff, so you will need to read up about it all for yourself and the site above is a good place to start. I am sure high trigs affect white blood cell production and high trigs would probably also explain your joint pain. You sound like a high risk factor for synrome X. Get another GP, your being told things are normal when readings like you show otherwise is a great concern and very dangerous; with how low you are and how high your pain is doesn't allow for you to waste time with a doctor who obviously is pretty clueless. Filling you with antibiotics is going to worsen the condition as all these will do is destroy good stuff in your system and make you more suseptable to sickness by lowering your immune system. People can become pretty sick from wrong use of antibiotics.I doubt this is related to you appendix but trauma can bring this on and may be it is related.Email womentowomen they are sure to help or be able to point you in the right direction. You may feel your diet is healthy, but you may very well be surprised what really is a healthy diet. Did you have a GTT to test your glucose levels, you probably did. With that test you should also have insulin readings also. Check those readings to see if they are in normal range or whether you are showing signs of developing insulin resistance or have so already; dont accept "the every thing is fine" rubbish. insulin resistance is also a major risk to health and body function. All the best and I hope this might be of some help.Agape, searchingsam

  • What anesthesia did you have for your surgery? Did you have a spinal? Did you rest after surgery? How long? I actually do think it could be related to your surgery...it is major surgery and can put your body into a shock...they also could have torn something during the surgery? laparascopic surgery is supposed to be this easy, benign thing, but it is still major surgery and can take longer to recover sometimes. I had severe phantom-like pains after a "simple" laparascopic cystectomy: in my chest and shoulders and back... your trig levels are definitely a concern. And the headaches seem severe - are you on any other meds? The pain in buttock area sounds like sciatica...Find an acupuncturist near you I think it will really help!Doctor of Oriental Medicine

  • Thanks for the replies! I had the full gtt and it was border line wants to re check in 3 months.... while I was pregnant I had the gestational diabetes not sure if that has any thing to do with it. as for the anestisia I was under general anesthia and it was a reg appendectomy not a laproscopy due to the extensive damage but surgeon says it wasnt ruptured I now have an 8 inch scar though! As far as the trigglycerides go any idea how to lower them? I am not a drinker nor do I eat junk food not big on fried food either I am not a health nut but I do watch what I eat. am going to check out the web site and will see what else they say! ALl I know is it is changing me in ways that I do not like! I was always a very happy person now I would say I am miserable and not someone you would want to be around! driving me crazy the constznt pain!
