I have been experiencing swelling in my ankle/shin bone area for several weeks. I have been tested for Kidney, liver, and Heart disorders, but came back fine. My sodium level is also fine. I'm only 33, male 5'7, muscular with a belly, at 230, and have no other real medical problems, except I have had MRSA Staff a couple years ago.

My doc gave me Lasix, but I think this is more like treating the symptom than treating the problem.

  • I'm male 61 & noticed ankle swelling & lump lower shin March, saw doctor April who couldn't diagnose it- but nor would he refer me for x ray - was just told to come back in 2 weeks time when he might then send me for x ray. Discouraged I left it 5 months then got x rays which showed bone cancer. Further tests show it fortunately hasn't spread, & am currently awaiting result of biopsy.

When you press on the fleshy part of your ankle/shin does the flesh spring back right away or does it take a long second and if you have been sitting or laying with your leg over the other and is the flesh where you had them touching stuck in that position and will not go back to normal for several MINUTES??? If the flesh goes back, but you can feel that there was an indentation just a second ago or if the flesh does not go back for several minutes then this is Lymphedema and you need to find out as much about it as you can. It can very serious and can even cause a life threatening infection!! Glad to be of help If this is the problem. Also, a lot of doctors do not know how hard your heart is pumping, try some Hawthorn Berries ground and put in geletin capsules and see if this helps.
