I sprained my ankle about 8 weeks ago playing football. I went to the hospital, got an x-ray and they ruled out that it was broken. They told me in about 3 or 4 weeks if the ankle is still a problem then I should go see my Doctor. They gave me crutches and a brace and told me not to walk on it unless I really had to but with the brace on. Over that time the swelling dramatically decreased but it was still there. I paid a visit to him and he said my ligaments don't seem to be torn because my ankle feels like its in place. 8 weeks later my ankle and the top of my foot is still swollen but not even as half as bad but its still really noticeable. The bruising is completely gone now. I can move it all around maybe about 85% now. I know sprains can take a lot longer then breaks. I been using the R.I.C.E. method and been soaking my foot in hot water with epsom salt. I also been keeping my foot and ankle wrapped in an ace bandage as well. I can walk but just not the way I want because the back of my heal hurts if I walk too fast. I can jump and stomp with no pain but I cant hop on it. I can go upstairs no problem but going downstairs is a minor problem because the minor pain and minor awkwardness in back of my heal. What do I do????Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
