I injured my ankle about 5 years ago when I dropped a table directly onto my ankle bone. My ankle was sore, swollen and my entire foot bruised for several weeks. I got an x-ray, but they didn't find any problems. Now 5 years later it still hurts and gives me problems. It doesn't hurt when I walk, but is VERY tender to the touch and the skin around the area is numb. It is tender all the way up my leg, although not as bad as right above my ankle. Someone suggested I injured the tibialis anterior muscle when I showed them the path of the pain.
Any thoughts on what this injury is, is it treatable, will I be in pain forever?
