Hello all,

I had an anemia as a diagnosis few years ago. I took some pills and vitamins for that and it was ok so far.
Recently I started to feel worse again, so I took the same pills as before. Though it didn't help that much: it disturbed my stomach so I even couldn't eat anything for about 5 days. I went to doctor. They checked my blood and said that everything is fine with my blood, that I have enough hemoglobulin. But I feel bad, for instance waking up in the middle of the night and can't move my arms, same with legs sometimes, my feet and hands are always cold. And doctor didn't say me anything what I can do.

Any advices?

  • Go back to your Doctor & tell him/her this. They should run some other tests......best place to start. Best wishes :)

Well you obviously do not have anemia now and it is some other kind of problem. I dont know where you are but i would have thought blood tests themselves would be standard so at this point all you have to do is get further blood tests done & get the results. You may have to get a number of different tests done, so i dont think it really should be a trust issue regarding Doctors. You need to have things ruled out, and at the end of the day anything here would be pure guessing. You have got to go back to your Doctor. Best wishes :)

  • Not sure what was it exactly. I took Fenuls (don't know how you call it in English, it's from Russia) Hi Maxd, Fenuls is for iron deficiency anemia and contains iron and maybe other things. I haven't founmd a full description ion English yet. Sickle-cell anemia is something quite different. Iron can cause stomach upset. Some more tests would be of help, especially a CBC with all the numbers and a complete list of your symptoms NOW.

  • So it means I shouldn't use Fenuls for sickle anemia cause it's for iron anemia?
