Hello, I have had problems with my anal muscles cramping after a bowel movement. (The pain lasts about 6-8 hours) Sometimes this is accompanied with a fissure that lasts a few days and hemorrhoids which shrink after about a day. The pain gets so bad that I go without eating. When I do eat I drink plenty of water (with the food) and make sure I get enough fiber. I finally got help and went to the emergency room, and they gave me muscle relaxers and vicodin. However, the doctor I'm seeing right now refuses to give me any muscle relaxers. Also, he will not let me refill my vicodin, even though I only take one before and one after my bowel movements. He seems too eager to jump to surgery. The surgery my doctor tells me about involves cutting the muscle to make it weaker. I'm really scared to have this surgery. (of recovery more than the actual surgery.) Can anybody give any advice?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
