What is wrong with me? I have had this problem for about 4 years.

I have itching, pain, alot of sweat or leaking and a very bad smell from my bottom. I have been to the doctor, tried many different creams but they don't work in the length. And I have been to the hospital and they have examined me and found nothing wrong.(Colospy and such) I have also been to a skin doctor who couldn't help me.

I am so sick of this now.... Can it be something wrong longer up, like in my stomach or something? I can't live with this **** so please help me..

  • What do you eat? Food like raisin bran? The raisins are soaked in glycerin to keep them moist. The glycerin will leak out your other end. Also dried cranberries can be the culprit if they are sweet and chewy. Are you taking that new weight loss drug Alli? Or eating those potato chips that have been fried in that oil that isn't absorbed by the body...and leaks out?Go on a really good diet for a week and see if it doesn't improve. No junk food , soft drinks, sugar etc. Adequate fiber every day.

  • I eat bread, milk products, chicken, rice, tuna and generally healthy. I also drink beer in the weekends. And eat some potato chips, but that is normally just on Saturday. What diet would you recomend trying? Cut out all bread or milk? I try to balance out all meals with proteins, carbohydrates and fat. I eat sufficient essential fat. Would be difficult getting enough proteins in my diet if I would have to cut out all milk products :P But any more specific food I should stop eating?

  • Maybe increasing your fiber GRADUALLY will help absorb oils. Regarding diet, it seems that you eat sensibly. Is is possible you have intestinal worms. They can cause an itchy bottom.

  • I have had the same problem for many years now. I have been to several doctors but could not identify the problem. Anyways I discovered that washing the anus immediately after defecating has improved things for me.

  • Eureka, I found it! Something that helps and it’s so simple and logical. I’ve suffered from rectal itch and then hemorrhoids most of my life and then on a trip to Thailand I discovered the bathroom sprayer. Some call it a bidet sprayer, I call it Heaven on Earth as it has completely solved my problem. It eliminates the need for rubbing with toilet paper and then washing with soap which just made it worse because it irritates and take away you own natural oils that you need. I bought mine at and it was amazingly easy to install. Enjoy, Jeff

I Also have the same issue and nothing is working for me also. Cleaning the anus with lukewarm water seems to be the best solution so far.

  • Thank you for the advice; I have had the same problem. It started about mid tour in Iraq, and everything you and the other posts were all on point to what I have been going through. I no longer have the problem, as I take 5 showers a day or as many as I can in a day, I use baby wipes when I poop, dry by dabbing the area with dry toilet paper and using medicated baby powder. all the doctors, skin specialists, and medics couldn't help me.... but showers and the other stuff seems to take care of it.

  • I had severe anal itching for over 7 years. Tried everything on the market and had 2 surgeries... nothing worked. Then 3 months ago I tried a product called PRANICURE...it changed my life. Within a few days I could go 24 hours without the urge to scratch. Within a week my bottom was completely healed. I simply apply Pranicure after every bowel movement and I have no more anal itching. 7 years was a long time to deal with severe anal itching (pruritus ani is what doctors call it.) I'm so happy to be done with it. Really...if any of you have anal itching don't waste your time with anything else. Just put Pranicure in your search engine to find out how you can order it. Hope this helps a lot of you not go through what I did.
