Over the past year or so I have had blood in the toilet a maybe three or four times. The blood is very fresh, and doesn't seem to be mixed with the stool at all. There is also blood dripping from my anus as well. I also think I get a very mild pain, and some itching but I could be imagining it.

I'm kind of worried that I have a mild form of Ulcerative Colitis, but that seems unlikely since I don't have any diarrhea or abdominal pain, and I don't have a fever either. Also, I don't think I get bleeding at regular intervals either, and I know UC has "flare-ups" every few months. My bleeding is fairly irregular. One thing that makes me think it might be UC, though, is that the bleeding never lasts more then a day and a half, and then goes away.

I think it could be hemorrhoids. My family has a bit of a history of hemorrhoids, both my parents have had them. Is it possible for hemorrhoids to appear a few times a year, bleed for a day and a half, and then go away?
