I am female, 20yrs old, with an 11month old child. I have many symptoms. I have been "bleeding" for the past 11months straight with only about 3days a month that I do not bleed. Because of the bleeding I have been losing weight and am unable to gain no matter what I do. Before getting pregnant I was 111lbs, gained 23 in pregnancy, I am now 91lbs Also I have very sensitive painful nipples and have been lactating for a month now, I stop breast feeding 6months ago. I have also been experiencing headaches and nausea. I am not pregnant again. Doctors have run urine tests, blood tests, and an ultra sound and can't tell me what's wrong with me. Any ideas?

  • Have you seen an OB/Gyn? Since you said you have an 11 month old child, and have been bleeding the past 11 months, I am assuming then that the bleeding came on after you gave birth. I wonder if something ruptured when you had the baby. When they took your blood did they check your red blood cells? I don't think you are dying, if you were, you would be dead by now. But it definitely needs to be taken care of. No one should have to deal with that, and I'm concerned you will become anemic from the constant bleeding. If you haven't seen an OB/Gyn, I would do that. The painful nipples and lactation are probably normal after stopping breastfeeding....because it takes the body some time to realize you are no longer breastfeeding, and so your breasts continue to make milk for a little while, causing it to leak and making your nipples sore. You may want to try pumping, just to keep them empty, for your comfort sake. My best friend, who is now on her 3rd child, had to do that, and got a slight case of "Mastitis", which is common in mothers during breastfeeding, and she had to pump for a little while, just to relieve her pain. I wouldn't stop at one doctor, if you don't get your answer. Sometimes people have to find a doctor that will listen. As a doctor, they should take bleeding for 11 months as a serious concern. Doesn't mean you are dying, but it does mean something needs to be done. Go to an OB/gyn, then if she can't help you, maybe a Hematologist. They specialize is bleeding disorders. Good luck to you! Keep the faith...there IS an answer out there, you just have to find the doctor that will work with you to find it!I am female, 20yrs old, with an 11month old child. I have many symptoms.
