All blood tests come back negative

I have had many blood test in the past few years but everything comes back negative. Even when all symptoms and physical abnormalities fit and the doctors are sure I will test positive, the results are still negative. E.G. if I eat potatoes, I get an anaphylactic shock but the skin-scratch-tests were negative for any allergies.

Only ferritin is immeasurably low.

Now I am being tested for Lupus, and although my rheumy is almost 100% sure it will be positive, I can't put my hopes for it and I am sure it will be negative once again.

Has anyone else experienced this? Why is it, all blood-tests come back normally? Could any disease cause this?

I'm beginning to think I might be a hypochondria, even though I have so many physical complications.

  • Hi I have exactly the same experience of real physical symptoms, but all tests including blood tests coming back as negative. You end up hoping that tests will come back as positive even if this will mean you have a really bad illness, but at least you would know what is happening to your body! I hope you find out what is wrong with you soon.

  • Indeed! I almost hope it is Lupus, so it finally has a name. Only the treatment (prednison in particular) freaks me out, lol. But beside that, I'd like this to be positive, finally.
