I got pregnant Oct of 08 and ever since December of 08 I started having cold like symptoms. I kept thinking it would go away and has just gradually gotten worse over time. I was diagnosed with bronchitis and a sinus infection in Jan. and my sinus issues never got any better then again in March I was told I had bronchitis again, went away and sinus issues still no better. Then I started having things that seem to be very much what an asthma attack is described as after I had my son in July. They told me I had bronchitis again, but at this point I knew it didn't I know what bronchitis feels like, this isn't it. It is now almost October of 09 and I am still not better. I will wake up some morning wheezing and unable to catch my breath which causes me to cough and vomit on occasion. My nose feels so stuffed that it seems like it is packed with cement, I sneeze constantly some days and feel completely fine on others. I have never had allergies, breathing problems or anything until I became pregnant. I was by a doctors words, "completely healthy" until my pregnancy. It has now been 2 months since I've had my son and in some ways I feel worse now so it is still only going downhill. What is going on with me?? (this is the short version, I honestly don't think I could list all that has happened since December of last year)

I have also suffered sinus problems since I was six months preganant and I never had these problems up unti then! The only thing I can attibute to these problems are that I went from a cold climate to a hot climate, but I think it was my pregnancy that caused the problems. I have been to an allergy specialist and he did the allergy tests and I am not allergic to anything. Infact I have been diagnosed with non allergic rhinitis, which means I have to rely on medication as there is no solution. But I dont belive that and I refuse to spend my life being exhaused froms sinusitis or rhinitis. So please if you can let me know if anyone has the same issues, to let me know. I am researching this on the net to see if anyone has similar symptons and has found a positive solution to it. I have medication that help but I still feel exhausted from it. So I need something else and hopefully its medfree! Goodluck and I hope you get better!

  • http://www.babycenter.com/0_stuffy-nose-during-pregnancy_1076.bcHere is a quick link above about rhinitis during pregnancy. I usually clears up a couple weeks after giving birth. To the first person are youi currently on birth control pills since your pregnancy as they can have an effect on your sinuses as well and of course so can being pregnant.Pregnancy and Birth control pills - Both these factors cause fluctuations in ones bodily hormones. These fluctuations may cause one to experience an increase in mucus production and consequently result in post nasal drip.Above taken from http://www.sinuswars.com/post%20nasal%20drip.asp

  • I'm not sure if anyone is still following this post, but I'm desperate and thought I'd seek help out there.I had my first child in 2009 and during the pregnancy I had sinus issues, but the autumn after I gave birth I suffered with what seemed almost continuous sinusitis for approx 4 months. My sinuses improved over the summer months, but I started to suffer with post nasal drip continuously. Since having my second child in 2010, I have never felt well. Continuous chest infections from the post nasal drip going into my chest over night, sinusitis and other infections.I have been investigated for polyps and this was negative, I have also been tested for allergies. The final diagnosis is Non Allergic Rhinitis, and I have spent a year on steroid sprays with no noticeable improvement. I have had enough and am embarrassed with all the nose blowing and coughing up of mucus each day as this year it hasn't disappeared over the summer. If anyone has had any luck with meds, surgery or a specific doctor please can you let me know?Desperately seeking help.

  • Hey everyone. I came across this on accident but i have has sinus issues for 7months since my daughter was born. One thing that has helped me tremendously is a neti pot. Google and GET ONE. I have had little to no problems since ive started using it. One time i skipped 2 days of using it and BAM sinus infection. I would say i have noticed that mildew really messes up my sinus and breathing. So in the winter when the snow starts to melt, all that watery snow causes mold for me and i get sick.

  • I too have been having huge sinus issues throughout my pregnancy and after the birth. I now find I'm stuffy all the time, and itchy. I think it might be a dust allergy as well as my skin gets welts as well as being really itchy throat, nose and earsand stuffy nosed. The dr just said to get a nasal spray, but I know it's more than just my nose... any others that can help, it'd be great!! Will check out that google recommendation too. thanks!
