I have had problems with pain in my right lower side for several years and been told it isl ikely to be IBS. Four years ago I had severe pain up my rectum and felt very unwell with this, I was suppose to have this checked out at hospital however they lost my notes and nothing was done. 6 months later I was called back to see the consultant as they found my notes and she decided it was likely it was an abscess that had passed through my system as the symptoms had cleared but it was likely this problem would return. For the past 5 weeks I have the same problem with pain when I sit or lie in a particular way and pain in my right side, initially it was on and off but now it is constant. I have been to the doctor and she has carried out a rectum examination but cannot see any signs of an abcess and thinks I have strained myself which is causing the pain. I feel very unwell with this to the point where I feel sick and very tired, I feel sore all over my body, especially my eyes. My insides and joints feel inflamed and I also feel light headed. I have not passed any blood (which happened the last time along with yellow and green puss). My stools are very soft and I am going frequently to the toilet including the middle of the night which never happens and I do feel a bit of relieve from the pain after I have been to the toilet which makes me think it is bowel related. The last time it took months for me to feel better again and I don't want to go through this again without some kind of explanation as to what is going on and why it is happening.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
