Been feeling ill for 6 weeks. Thought I had an STD but all clear. Tested for HepABC (3 weeks after oral sex encounter) and all OK. Went to GP as felt ill. All results fine, except one - my liver function test shows a raised ALT at 60iu. I have to have more tests. Is this serious? What does this mean if only ALT is raised and other enzymes normal?

  • Is 3 weeks too soon after exposure to hepatitis to be picked up in bloods? My Doc felt that there would eb definate indicators if there had been a risk. Just having a higher ALT when all other enzymes normal made me think Ive got a virus. Ive terrible aching in my back - i guess behind where my liver is on upper right side.
