Hello, I am a 22 yr old girl and i have been experiencing frequent bleeding in between periods. I went to the doctor and he said that my cervix is inflammed and bleeding. They did a pap and i tested negative for chlamydia and gonorhea, but they found that one of my normal flora had gone kind of buck wild and so he put me on antibiotics. I finished them and I am still bleeding. Im really scared because of possible fertillity complications. Does anyone have any ideas? Im definately not pregnant. Im scared of cancer and stuff too. thanks

  • Giving you an antibiotic because your flora is messed up is just counterproductive, as the antibiotic will further strip out your flora and cause further imbalance. At the very least you must take a good quality probiotic to help rebuild your flora... How long have you had this bleeding? Do you have a lot of pain? Is there a lot of fresh blood or is it spotty and dark? Did you visit a GP or a gyno? you should get an ultrasound to rule out cysts, fibroids, or endo... I suggest trying to find an alternative practitioner who specializes in women's health. An acupuncturist who specializes in Chinese herbal medicine could really help your condition. Visit www.acufinder.com to find one near you. It would still be advisable to get the ultrasound done and any other blood tests to check hormone levels. Best wishes.DOM
