All week I haven't had a solid bowel movement, then as of yesterday night I suddenly had a sharp pain in the upper right side of my stomach. If I follow my belly button over to the right and up a little and apply pressure, I feel a very sharp & uncomfortable pain. I had 1 bowel movement since then, but it was a very small amount, and the pain is consistant when I walk, take a deep breathe or pretty much do anything involving stomach muscles. It feels a bit swollen and looks puffy on the right side of my belly button, and is very tender when pushed or even a bit of pressure is applied.

I was looking into it as appendicitis.. but could I just be constipated?? please help

  • Well, get some prune juice and see if it clears up the problem. If it does, you were constipated. If it doesn't, it's something else.

  • You need to go to a Doctor, very soon. If is was a stomach bleed, it can rupture and kill you! It may also be appendicitis.

  • you really should see a dr...It could be gallbladder or pancreatic problems. I went through 8 months of some of the same symptoms you have. As it turned out it was a gallstone that passed into my pancreas. This happened because the dr I was seeing kept sending me for test after test (which takes alot of time making appointments, waiting for results, etc). The gallstone was moving out of the gallbladder and finally ended up in the pancreas. I now have problems because of that...So see a doctor ASAP...You may be having anxiety (from some other situation) which can cause bowel problems and now, of course, are anxious about this. Chances are it's just constipation and will resolve itself...By now it probably already has...Constipation is very uncomfortable but will usually clear up on its own....Wishing you healthier and happier days ahead.....
