I have been experiencing abdominal pains for about a month. They are generally in the lower right quadrant of my abdomen which is more swollen than the left. This are a is also sensetive to pressure. I have also been struggling with abdomional swelling and fullness from sternum to pelvic bone, as though pregnant ( which I am not). During this time I have had severe constipation and diahreah, alternating. Sometimes needing to move up to five times a day. This is coupled with a loss in appetite and constant gas which is often very difficult to pass. Two years ago I did have bloody stools which were treated in the ER but not followed up and have not happened since. My brother has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.
About two weeks ago my entier body suddenly became swollen. My face was puffy my abdomen protruding and my legs were swollen. This happened over the course of a few days so I am pretty sure it was not weight gain, there was no increase in my food intake. I know because being disturbed by this sudden change I wrote down everything that I consumed. My lymph nodes were also swollen and tender around my neck and underneath my arm pits. Since this began i have been feeling fatigued and lathargic and generally 'out of it'. My periods are usually regular but the last one was unusually short and light.
I have visited the doctor about four times since this began and they have not been able to help. They took blood, stool and urine samples which all came back with normal results, as did my temperature. I am supposed to be sent for x rays but so far no one seems to have a clue what the problem could be.
