My husband has been in pain for about 2 months. He has had ct scan, x-rays and 3 viles of blood drawn. Nobody can tell him what is wrong or even venture a guess. He complains of his right side hurting and when he does heavy lifting and is on his feet for a long time it bothers him so much that he wants to throw up. Please help I can't stand seeing him in pain.:(:mad:

  • Did they test for celiac sprue? It causes severe abdominal pain as well as a myriad of other symptoms.

  • Thank you for your reply. I don't know what they tested for and I don't even know what to ask for. This is so frustrating, I think they think he's faking it. They don't seem to care or even want to try to help by doing more tests since the others all came back negative. I guess thats what you get when you join the military and defend your country.

  • I have a 14 year old daughter with abdomial pain, slight fever, and staying tired we have heard everything from she is lying to she might have mono. After we begged the MD she was tested for mono and this was positive she contnued to have the fever and pain. She was sent for a CT every lab that could be done now 2 months later she still runs the fever on and off more on the off and still has the abdomial pain with migrain headachs. Does anyone have any ideals she is beginning to think she has lost her mind. We keep telling her that when I take her temp when she has been with me all day and she is between 100 to 101 she is telling the truth she is sick. Please anyone give us an ideal.

  • hi mum..The same is happening to me as your daughter for about 7 years now (you can read my post 'sick of being sick') and i have been told its everything from psychosomatic (my husband will tell you its not in my head) to celiacs. i know its not ibs, fevers are not supposed to be accurent. its awful knowing its freezing outside but you are dripping with sweat or its boiling outside and the middle of summer and you are under blankets with goosebumps. not to mention the stomach pain, and all the bits that go with digestive problems. a friend has suggested to me that i go and see a naturapath, she didn't eat for 3 years after a c-sec and after hundreds of tests coming up with nothing she went to the naturapath and she was told she had a bacterial infection, put on the right meds and she was fine after that. i can understand what you are going through, its so frustrating and you feel like you are banging your head against a wall. the hardest part is finding out whats wrong with you.. the only thing i can suggest is blow the g.ps off and try a 'witch doctor' as my father calls them..

  • my mother recently went into the emergency room with severe stomach pain. they sent her home with a flu diagnosis. The next day she was in such severe pain that she went back. They removed her gall bladder and a gall stone, but she remained in the hospital for about a week without any signs of recovery. After multiple blood tests and CTs, the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her. They finally performed exploratory surgery and found her intestines had been twisted up inside of her. They removed the twisted portion and she has made a full recovery albeit with some lifestyle changes (no more eating popcorn or nuts).

  • Whereabouts on his right hand side is the pain? Upper or lower abdomen? Does he get back pain on the same side? Has he actually thrown up as well as feeling nauseous? If it's on the upper rhs, maybe it could be a problem with his gallbladder - was this covered by the ct scan?

  • Thank you all for all of the ideals for my daughter. Her pain is on the left side. Just below her rids. The CT showed no Kidney or Gall stones. She was placed on Augmenton on Monday and is doing 100% better. Also wanted to let the world know that a child died today in our area( Virginia) with Bacterial Spinial Meningitis. Dont let any MD tell you being sick is in your head or your childs make them keep looking until they find the problem.
