I am a 32 y/o female and have had several boughts of severe abdominal pain. Last June I spent 5 days in the hospital. I have had EGD, Colonoscopy, multiple CT and MRI's, Hyda scan. Everything has come back negative. I am on a gluten free diet. My labs are normal, WBC averages between 12-16 with slightly elevated Lymphs are the only thing off. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy 1 1/2 years ago for pre-cancer. I do have my ovaries. My pain is constant at a 5 on 1-10 scale. I feel like I have been punched in the stomach. After I eat I bloat like I am 8 months pregnant. I also have sharp, severe lower R abd pain. That has sent me to the ER 3 times in the past week. I am a nurse and have a lot of resources and no one has a clue. Please respond with any suggestions.

  • You're a nurse so I'm sure you're knowledgable, but did you ever consider it being a problem with your ovaries? Sometimes if you have cysts on your ovaries (benign) they may just suddenly burst which can cause pain. Have you had an ultrasound of the area? Other than that lower right abdominal pain could be "McBurney's point" which indicates appendicitis. Whatever it may be I hope you find the etiology and get the problem resolved! Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. I have had multiple ultrasounds all normal and CT shows no swelling of appendix. The pain has now lasted this time for 2 weeks.
