My brother has been diagnosed with a fibrous abdominal tumor that the original pathology is non malignant. When the surgeon attempted to resect it everytime he cut into it he said it "exploded." It wrapped around his aorta and bowel. He has never seen a tumor like this nor has other surgeons he has talked to. Pathology has not seen this cell type. Does anyone have any information or have they heard of a tumor "exploding" when it is cut into. It is a rapid growing mass. TAn area doubled its size in 2 weeks after a biopsy was done.
