About one and a half weeks ago I've started to get discomforts in my stomach. This became alarming to me when the next day I felt like someone squeezed my stomach and I tasted something metallic. After that day, I would get regular bouts of stomach discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and breathlessness.

I went to the doctor, and they took x-rays of my lungs as well as blood samples to check the liver and other blood values. These tests all came up negative. My doctor mentioned that should these symptoms continue, it might be worth checking into the gallbladder. They did also mention that this is unlikely, given the usual gallbladder patients were quite overweight, female, and in their 40's. I'm none of those.

I then had a feeling of numbness in my left abdominal, which eventually came to become a light pain. After driving to the doctors again, they checked out my urine to make sure my kidney was fine, as well as making abdominal x-rays. After these tests came back, the doctor believed it may simply be obstipation, and gave me a laxative to clear my system.

The next morning, I took the laxative (Magnesium Citrate). It mostly appeared that water came out of me, though feces was also present, but all in all very liquid. During this colon cleansing, the numbness in my left side came back. I was again feeling very light symptoms of dizziness, nausea, and stomach discomforts. I also felt like my knees were slightly weak/numb.

The next day after this, I went to school, and my weak knees disappeared, though I had a heavy bout of nausea and dizziness, making it somewhat difficult to focus on class. At home, I had a bowel movement, which appeared as though the food was somewhat undigested (bits of carrots and tomatoes were still visibly present and seemed to make up the bulk of it all). I'm currently feeling better, but it's likely another pause before another wave of nausea hits me. Frankly, I'm not sure what it is. While I certainly wasn't overly active, being 20 years old I feel that I really shouldn't have anything serious, yet these symptoms are hard to ignore.

To summarize my symptoms, I have (not constant, but rather appearing and disappearing): Dizziness, nausea, stomach discomforts/pain, diarrhea (with somewhat undigested food, not very watery), occasional light pierces of chest pain, light lower back pain, upper back and shoulder blade pain, stiff neck, breathlessness, and occasional metallic tastes in my mouth (which seem to be disappearing).

I've tried lately to keep on a diet high in fiber and other vitamins, cutting out all junk food out of my system, as well as drinking only water. I don't believe this has caused any changes, but it may be yet too early to figure that out. I also believe that this all may have started due to strange posture. Having played video games on my bed for several days may have put a lot of stress on my spine. Could this cause some, or all of my symptoms? With my pains as far as back and neck go, this seems very plausible to me.

Thank you for reading this long post. If you have any suggestions as to what I might look into, I will be happy to look into it. I will try to give updates on my situation for others having similar symptoms.

Thanks again!

  • Try avoiding gluten - especially wheat products for a couple of weeks and see if your symptoms get better. Drink lots of water (8 glasses per day), and take a probiotic. You might have a wheat allergy, as I did. The chest pains might be related to reflux. Don't dispair...just try different things. Doctors don't know everything...sometimes you need to figure it out for yourself. Try the mercola.com website for all natural healing.

  • This sounds like lead poisoning.... I know it has been a while since you posted this, but if you still have the symptoms and and are still wondering what it might be, then I might check into a possibility of lead poisoning.
