I recently learnt about a little girl in Africa who at the age of 9 months could walk, talk a little and was perfectly healthy.
She was involved in an accident where she got a fractured collar bone. Not long after the accident she fell ill and then lost control of her neck and alot of her muscles began to stiffen.
Barak is now 4 years old and has no control over her bowel movements, can't speak, walk or even sit up.
Barak also appears mentally retarded as at 4 yrs she still puts anything she see's in her mouth and still laughs/giggles like a baby would when played with i.e smiled at. She also sits and stares at the same object for almost an hour.
Her father who is a poor photographer is desperately seeking diagnosis. He has taken her from hospital to hospital in Africa and still is unable to be told what the diagnosis is. In actually fact, the doctors just ask him to try and get her exercised. Because of this, Barak has never been to school and has very limited interaction with the outside world.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR FUNDS OF ANY KIND. No money is requred it is just to UNDERSTAND what this illness is.
Please can you kindly give some opinion on how to get this diagnosed.
Once again, this is not a financial plea of anykind - On no account will you be asked for monies. I am just trying to help this guy. I have spent days searching the internet trying to get a clue of what this illness might be but with very little success.
Any information, direction on how to get diagnosed will be very appreciated. If there are any sites, or questions and answers sections on other webs that can assist in finding the diagnosis; I will really be grateful.
