Hello all,

I am a 24 year old male who has been troubled with symptoms for 9 years now.

It all started after being on a holiday and eating some food i went to bed but couldnt goto sleep due to breathing problem. I continued to have this problem even thought the doctors told me my breathing was fine. I thought something was blocking my throat and below from breathing.

Anyway this eventually subsided. A few days after this i got muscle weakness in the eyes and started seeing what we call 'Visual Snow' along with floaters and after images. I got really scared and went to the doctor who told me to goto a Neuro. After all neuro tests, nothing. I have had blood tests, MRIs, CT scans and what not. Nothing what so ever.

I also get tingling sensations in my arms and sometimes 'electric' sensations in my legs. I also have anxiety, but the anxiety is caused by the symptoms so its not really a problem per say.

I also have insomnia and bad dreams.

Anyone have even a remote clue to what the ***l this is?

  • What are your iron levels? Suffer weakness? Did you were on EMG?

  • I dont exactly remember but my reports of all tests done were normal. Weakness, now that is a very weird question to answer. My heart rate goes up way too quickly during any physical activity, and i am a fit person. My height is around 5'9 and I weigh around 71kgs. The weakness is in my eye muscles and the muscles in my jaw/behind ears. I get a lot of crackling all over my body specially in my fingers and elbow areas. I have not been on any proper medication as doctors have no idea what to treat me for.

  • My iron levels are fine according to tests. Yes there is weakness, specially in the jaw area which also has grinding noises when i move the jaw. Same is with the elbows area and sometimes the knee areas. I did not get your last question?

  • I'm not a doctor or anything but it seems like this could be somehow related to your nervous system. My other guess would be that this is some sort of psychological thing. Good luck.

  • What did you eat? and have you thought about a parasite on your food? Maybe you should get checked for that. Just a thought. • hi this is ByTheSword (author of this thread), for some reason forum wont let me login.Anyway I dont think I have been tested for parasites. I have given a detailed history of my problems to all doctors both here in India and Australia but no one has suggested anything to do with parasites though. It was the first time I had sea food I think and it was some local specialty sea food from the Indian Ocean. I might suggest this to my GP next time i meet him. But do parasitical problems cause neurological problems?

  • Yes, most definetly. Parasites are small and dangerous in the human body. I would have it checked. It is worth a try. hi this is ByTheSword (author of this thread), for some reason forum wont let me login.Anyway I dont think I have been tested for parasites.
