My 9 week old little girl hasn't gained any weight in 2 weeks and has only gained a total of 10 ounces since birth. She weighed 8 lb 14 oz (4.04 kg) at birth and at 9 weeks (almost 10 weeks) she only weighs 9 lb 8 oz (4.3 kg). She has met all of her developmental milestones, eats well (every 3 hours), sleeps great (from 8 or 9pm until 4 or 5am every night), and is a generally happy baby. She seems satisfied after her meals, and if I try to feed her too early she wants nothing to do with it. She spits up a little bit after (or during) her feedings and it is mostly mucus (she has had no congestion). She has had a mild fever off and on lately, but nothing steady. She has had some uric acid crystals in her diapers in the mornings (salmon pink power), but she doesn't have any other symptoms of dehydration and she eats (breastfeeds) very well. She should have gained at least 2 lb (about 1 kg) by now and no one knows why she hasn't! Apparently there is nothing wrong with my breastmilk, there is a good supply of it, and she's eating enough. No one knows why she's not gaining weight, and we need to figure it out soon or it could have major consequences. Thanks in advance for your help!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
