I have been to eight doctors in the last 3 and a half weeks. I had a UTI infection according to a dip stip test my doctor did. I had no culture or urineanalysis done at that time. He gave me Cipro and I started to feel worse. Then they switched me to Macrobid it didn't work very well either. I was still peeing a lot and in pain. I went back and they said I have no infection. I thought this could be from the antibiotics. Maybe the infection isn't showing up in the test? I waited and have been tested 3 more times including a culture and blood test they say I have no infection. I went to gynacology and they did a pap. No infection. Meanwhile I am getting worse and worse. I am also having a great deal of vaginal pain. It hurts to walk. I get up 5 times a night to go pee. I went to urology and they said I may still be healing from my UTI and they want to wait 2 months before doing more tests. It has been 2 weeks since the first time I was told I have no more infection and I am getting worse and worse and worse. How am I healing? It wasn't as bad two weeks ago as it is now. No one is giving me any answers or helping me. The only thing the urologist said was after I had gone to the bathroom my bladder had 25 percent urine still it in which was, "slightly unusual" since women usually completly empty there bladder when they pee. Please help me. I'm in so much pain and so worried and afraid.

  • Google candida and look into this as a possible cause...most docs don't test or treat for candida effectively IMO. There is a simple saliva test you can do that tells you if you have a candida concern. www.candidasupport.org is a good website. Threelac is a great candida product - I have used this many times with great success. Please note I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH THREELAC OR THE ABOVE WEBSITE. I have just had problems with UTI's in the past and found this very helpful. Look into your diet and cut out all sugars, esp high fructose corn syrup. Have you tried cranberry tabs, and a PROBIOTIC? Get a good quality probiotic like Femdophlius, or JarroDophilus at a health food store. Take the probiotic orally, and also break open a capsule and mix with plain unsweetened yogurt and insert this mixture into your vagina. Please try this - it is very helpful and soothing. The probiotic helps reintroduce beneficial flora into your vagina, which can in turn help your urinary tract. Cranberry is usually helpful for UTI problems. My last piece of advice is to try acupuncture - it is brilliant for genitourinary problems. Best wishesDOM

  • I have another pap tommorow and will ask them to check for that. I took an over the counter yeast product just in case I had it since they didn't check for it during my one pap a week ago. I haven't gotten any better. :(It's weird but when I drink cranberry juice I noticed I have more pain afterwards and pee more and it hurts worse.Google candida and look into this as a possible cause...most docs don't test or treat for candida effectively IMO. • Similar issues led a doc to give me a test called an IVP...they put dye in your system and watch it run through. This led them to diagnose a kidney stone which a few days later passed.

  • It's weird but when I drink cranberry juice I noticed I have more pain afterwards and pee more and it hurts worse. Okay, are you drinking Ocean Spray cranberry juice or any other juice you find in the supermarket? If so, then please don't as the high fructose corn syrup in it completely negates the good effect it may have. I suggest cranberry tablets or capsules instead, bought at a healthfood store. If your pain is severe, then I would definitely check for stones - good advice above. OTC vaginal candida products are worthless IMO. And please consider trying a candida cleanse instead of resorting to antifungal medication should your doctor prescribe these - diflucan and other antifungal meds often don't clear things up and can be harmful to your liver. Oregano and tea tree oil are very helpful and have strong antifungal properties. Best wishesDOM

  • Yes, I was drinking supermarker cranberry juice. I think you are probablly very right about the fructose ruining the benefits. I'll try to stay away from drinking it. I've been taking this medicine for 2 days to stop bladder spams. It isn't working at all. I'm still peeing the same. They don't have any kind of OTC medicine for vaginal pain either. I have no choice but to be miserable about it. I hope the gynocologist can find something tommorow otherwise the urologist wants me to wait two months to run more tests. I don't think I can take this pain. I can't go anywhere and haven't for over 3 weeks. It's hard to walk and the pain is contant. What if it is something serious and I wait two months and then get worse? That is causing me a lot of worry.Okay, are you drinking Ocean Spray cranberry juice or any other juice you find in the supermarket? • I posted a reply but it never showed up. I'll try again.I agree that is a good point about the cranberry juice. I've just been drinking supermarket stuff. I'm taking anti bladder spasming medication for two days and its not working. Why do I have to wait two months in agony before they do more tests? If I find out I'm clean tommorow what then? If it's serious in two months it will be worse.Okay, are you drinking Ocean Spray cranberry juice or any other juice you find in the supermarket? • Go to the pharmacy and get some "Uristat". This is a oral urinary anesthetic sold over the counter. Ask the pharmacist if you can't find it. It will dye your urine orange in about 30 minutes, and if you have a bladder infection, this drug should make you feel better. If you still hurt, tell your doc that you don't think it is in your bladder or urethra because of the drug not working. Not emptying the bladder promotes a site for bacteria to accumulate. After you pee, stand up...wait a minute, then try again. Pee in a bathtub of warm water...ick, but the urine won't sting the vaginal area. No harsh soap or wiping. Don't use toilet paper. Keep a pile soft washcloths to use. Go commando (panty-less) as much as possible. Wear a dress or robe at home. Soak in warm, clean bath water. Take something for pain. Do you have a fever? Try to get some Diflucan pills if they think you have a yeast infection. Don't eat spicy foods. Lay off of the sugar. Hope this helps.

  • Make them check for a Kidney stone, like the person above said. The can check for blood in your urine. A sign of kidney stone. Or they can go as far a doing an ultrasound or CTScan. Uristat will help if its an irritated Urethra, but not for Kidney Stones. They gave me Vicodin for Kidney stone pain, but when i had stones I had pain in my Kidneys (lower back) and later my Urethra. Don't wipe at all, pat or air dry. Water will dry you out, believe it or not, down there, so don't bathe more than once a day, and use baby shampoo, it is gentler than adult soap.

  • I don't have a fever sorry I didn't mention that before.I wanted to update you guys on what the gynaocologist said today. She felt around and said I am having pain in my Hymen area. She said it involuntarily spasms when she touches it. She said she is on the borderline whether or not I have Vaginitus Bacterious (Probablly wrong spelling) She said some of them are a little sticky under a microscope but it still could be normal. She said I have no yeast. I will have the results from some more tests saturday. Got tested for diabetes and a bunch of STD's. She was saying my vagina could be causing the bladder pain and not vise versa. She said the bladder and vagina are next to each other so it makes sence they would cause each other pain. I keep suggesting stuff that may be wrong and I'm worried they will think I'm paranoid if I ask for a Kidney test. I guess I should.See, I have an anxiety disorder and when I am actually sick they always bring up my anxiety as if this is the problem. People with Anxiety actually get sick to. It seems an unthinkable concept to some of my doctors. I think they know something is going on but it gets brought up as a factor. I take medicine and wasn't having any anxiety at all the whole time I was sick until just recently this last week. I've also lost weight and have been eating the same and not exersizing since I'm in pain so I thought that was a little odd. Every time I have to pee I actually pee. I never try to go and can't. I have a heavy stream and can go 5 times in an hour and still pee. All of you're suggestions have been wonderful. If you have any other comments I'd appreciate it.Go to the pharmacy and get some "Uristat". This is a oral urinary anesthetic sold over the counter. Ask the pharmacist if you can't find it. • My dear friend if you are in so much pain as you say you are anything right now would benefit you and one such thing you very much may want to try is urine therapy. Do your own research on it before diving into it. It works for many people. It has been around since the begining of time and the only reason it isn't now is because it is free.

  • Monsterlove is correct....Accupuncture....look for NAET/Bioset therapy locally. These docs are everywhere. This therapy worked for me and for the person who I met in this forum a while back who recommended it to me.It is simple, non invasive and gets to the "root" of the matter. Insurance doesn't usually cover it but if you've already been to 8 doctors and noone can help you, you need this therapy. The regular docs will give you a diagnosis and a pill to mask your symptoms....Accupressure puts your body back in balance, the way it was designed...Also for unregistered from above...spasms.(hymen), Bacterial Vaginosis alternating with yeast...anxiety(which could infact be an allergy symptom) weight loss and frequent urination...all so seemilgly unrelated...yet all so connected. You also should try the above mentioned therapy...I think it would help you immensely. Hope you are well...and are getting better everyday. momy cat

It does not sound right to go w/o underwear, or take a product to mask symptoms, or pee in a bathtub...what if the infection backs up? People with infections should always take showers.

  • I am so scared. I keep getting worse and worse. My stomach hurts bad when I pee. I've had Diareah for 4 days straight. I can't eat anything I feel sick. I have to force myself to eat and when I do my stomach hurts. I feel like vomiting, still having vaginal pain to where I can't walk. Why can't they help me? Why can't they find out what's wrong? I'm so worried its something serious and I know kaiser has killed so many people with their negligance. I found out a dip stick just indicates an infection. I may never have had a UTI to begin with and now we'll never know since he didn't do a culture or urinalysis.
