Hi all
Im new here just wondering if anyone can help. I have been in pain constantly for since Feb. 2005. I really dont know where to start, but i will try and hope someone can understand. here are the different DXs and the different opinions on each.
1. ovarian cysts yes but pain shouldnt last
2. enometriosis neg
3. stds neg ovarian cancer neg
4. lumbar spine have been told the i have a budging disc nothing wrong and an extra vertabrae
5. MS early stages then told no maybe a mini stroke then told all is clear and im fine
6. fibromyalgia by my rhemutolygist Gp says no
7. herniated disc in neck by one neurologist and just a small spur by another
8. thorasic back one nerologist says theres a syrinx but not important other neurologist says he doesnt see it on new films but could be a problem.

This is a short version of what i have been through the last 2 years. I have since lost my job, disability and any income of any kind so of course I am depressed the worst part of this whole thing. Does anyone know where to find a doctor that cares and will sit and try to figure out whats wrong with you? I dont see any choices left. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Patty

  • "6. fibromyalgia by my rhemutolygist Gp says no " Why did the rhemy think it was FM? Why did the GP think it wasnt FM? Were you tested for fibromyalgia? Fibro is diagnosed by the FM tender points. http://www.immunesupport.com/fibromyalgia-tenderpoints.htm One usually has to have a certain number of these on testing (15? out of the 18) before a diagnoses of FM is made. If neither of them checked you for FM tender points to make their diagnoses, I strongly suggest to go and see someone who specialises in FM to find out if you do have this or not. This may help http://www.co-cure.org/Good-Doc.htm "1. ovarian cysts yes but pain shouldnt last" From what Ive read, I think that depends on the type of ovarian cysts and the size. Maybe try to get a second opinon if yours could be giving you constant pain from someone who specialises in female problems. Maybe try out a chiropractor too, to see if one can help.

  • ty for replying i have 12 points for fibro from my rhemotolgist. he also thinks the extra vertebrae my be causing extra pain. He says i have a tail. This was my last DX and my GP thinks its wrong because well.... really i think he doesnt believe fibro is a real disease. Or that it can be this dibilitating. i walk with a cane most of the time abnormally dropp things and in general very weak. Lots of numbness and tingling through out my back and limbs. It does sound like fibro. If in fact this is a real. Sorry to be so doubtful guess my GP is the one that is wrong. As for my cysts i have been to my obgyn and he has done blood test sonograms and even a laperscopy he believes it has to do with whatever is going on in my lower back. Also thanks for the links i will check them out. Patty

  • as far as the ovarian cyst ask your gyno about a pill that "restarts" your system. I had an ovarian cyst once and it's quite painful and the doctor put me on a pill for like 10 days and the cyst went away :) it starts with a P I believe can't remember the name of it but it helped me :)

Patty I think you have your answer there, you do have Fibro. I myself have had Fibro, so do many many thousands of others and it IS medically recognised by the medical boards around the world. I suggest you seriously think about changing your GP as such a closed minded one who obviously isnt keeping up to date with current medical knowledge and dont even seem to want too, isnt going to be a great lot of help to you!!! Along with FM too many other problems can come too (comorphid conditions eg (IBS, CFS etc), so you need a GP who isnt in denial of your condition. Fibro is often completely debilitating and I know of many fibro sufferers who need a cane to walk or are on disability due to it (Im on a government disability pension due to CFS/ME/FM. It IS recognised). I suggest you join the FM support forum or the chat at www.immunesupport.com to find out just how many other FM suffers need canes etc too due to the illness. Its not uncommon. Maybe looking about for FM support group in your local area could help too, these sometimes get in guest speakers of the medical profession eg physios, dietitians, counsellors etc etc who specialise in FM and give public talks. best luck to you.

  • Dear Patty, I too had your symptoms..ALL OF THEM!!ovarian cysts- I have suffered PCOD since age 13 with my first period.bulging discs in spine- I have L5-S1 herniated in my spine.MS/mini-stroke- I spent hrs in ER in April having "stroke-like" episodes.Fibromyalgia- I was diagnosed with Fibro by a Rheumatologist. I did not have endometriosis either...no ovarian cancer...no std's either. I lost my job too, disability ran out, social security had not made a decision and I was living on a small stipen from my county services for months...getting further and further in debt. I came to this forum and I was desperate for help.A woman here recommended NAET/Bioset therapyI was desperate so I went. My symptoms are 90% resolved and I am headed back to work!!My doctor was so impressed with my recovery, that he went to see the Bioset doc himself. Patty, if you let me know where you live, I will help you find someone in your area. I DO NOT get paid for doing this as others have implied.I was just a sick little girl who was losing her life, fast. Wishing you the best, mommy cat:)

  • Patty, NAET is a form of accupressure. It is non-invasive, doesn't hurt, and helps ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a nurse by profession so I was VERY skeptical but I went. I was very desperate. Like you, I had been to countless docs, had every test and was told I was a medical mystery.I have chronic fatigue syndrome. I had it severely.Eatafruit78 from this forum told me she had my symptoms but she didn't have a diagnosis. She was in the same boat. She told me how much it relieved her symptoms and I believed her.I went. I've never been so glad!!. I was having countless symptoms and now they truly are 90% disappeared. The worst of it now is cold hands and feet. No kidding...I was dying!! Here is the link for practicioners in OH....also check out Bioset..Dr Ellen Cutler...it is an off-chute of NAET and works. That is the one I went to due to the fact there was a practicioner 20 minutes from my home. http://www.naet.com/subscribers/doctorResults.asp?FromQS=1&db=default&uid=default&City=&State=OH&Zip=&Last=&Country=&Status=on&sb=4&view_records=Search If you want to contact me via e-mail, my address is bentnoteblues@netscape.net I will be glad to give you more info. Patty, I hope you are doing well...keep your chin up, help is on the way!!:D Sincerely, mommy cat
