I am very concerned. My 26yo/w son began with a corneal abrasion from a child's fingernail on 7/14/08. That healed and within a week the injury eroded. that healed. But since it has recurred 7 times, today being the worst occurrence. His opth. put a band aid contact lens in today, started him on doxycycline po bid, vigamox i gtt tid, lacrilube qhs, artificial tears qid & prn, and is to see him back in 2 days. My concern is the persistent reoccurance of the erosion with symptoms worsening each time. The opth. has had him on vit.c , lysine, and fish oil, lacrilube qhs as a standard care. My question is could there be an underlying infection or systemic disease that is causing this to reoccur? What are the systemic problems that could cause something like this and does Map-Dot-Fingerprint Dystrophy always occur in both eyes.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
