About 6 years ago my symptoms began as numbness in my left leg and lower back pain, i was diagnosed with a pelvic tilt. not to long after that i started having extreme groin pain, they couldnt find a reason for the pain so i was sent to physical therapy and aqua therapy and steroid injection. i was seen by neurologists, rheumatologists, spine specialist, physiatrists...and no answers. then a year later i had an mri arthrogram done and they discovered that i had a labrem tear in my hip
so the surgery was done to repair me and then i was sent for more physical therapy. a couple months after surgery the pain returned. so of course when i doubt send me for more steroid injections that do not work! they sent me for a repeat mri to rule out a new tear and i did not have one.
at that point the ortho said he has treated the orthopedic side of the problem and recomended i go see another doctor!
from there i saw a docter her diagnosed me with fibromyalgia..however the only pain i have is in my groin!..so i believe he diagnosed me with it cus they dont know what else it is. so once again i found another doctor..who felt i had a hernia or a "sports hernia" so i had that surgery and after that my pain was even more severe. and when i saw the docter in follow-up he said i didnt have any type of hernia but he decided to repair me as one anyway!! so now i have a mesh in me for no reason. after that he sent me for once again more steroid injections! i have had about 6 or 7 of them so far, i tell all of the doctors that send me for them that they do not work for me but they send me for them anyways, i've been told numerous times by different doctors that they are "scratching there heads with me" Thats not something you want to hear from a doctor
so recently i went to see a doctor out of yale university medical center, he did another mri and blood work, the mri revealed according to him "mild arthritis" and the blood work revealed a high positive ana titer of 1:1280, and now hes talking about lupus and going to see a rheumatologist...now my only symtpom is groin pain!!!! i am 22 years old it hurts to walk stand sit bend put my socks on in the morning. it hurts with increased activity! and my range of motion is extremely limited sometimes i wake up in the morning and can't bare weight on my leg!...how can one symptom like groin pain point to fibromyalgia or lupus? no one can help me and I NEED HELP!:confused:
