Hi everyone.. I am posting about my Daughter who is 5yrs old. Nine months ago she suffered from bouts of vomitting, her food just simply wasn't digesting and she would Vomit when her stomach reached its full compasity. After a while that went away and after doing a scope she was Diagnosed with H-pylori and has done 2 rounds of antibiotics. The first round in May and the 2nd just 2 weeks ago. Her stomach pain has not subsided and now she has a burning sensation in her stomach, which is a new symptom. I called her Gastro Dr and they have decided that they want to do another scope to look at her stomach. She is currently on 60mg of prevacid and take childrens Maalox . She has a low fat diet, doesnt drink soda, eats a pretty bland diet. She has been test via blood tests for H-pylori (neg) Gluten Allergy(neg) Celiac (neg) They have tested her blood for allergies but she has never had a reg allergy test which is more sensitive... I think that they are missing something and my daughter is paying for it. I am considering putting her on a vegitarian diet or vegan since she doesnt like meat anyways,,. any suggestions are greatly appreicated. Thanks Misty

* I know that she isn't faking it to get out of doing anything or for attention

  • Wow sorry to hear about her problems, but it sounds like your doctors are doing just about everything, just not fast enough, was there any radiological views taken of the abdomen-pelvis that will make sure everthing anatomically is in correct order and no masses, you can try some probiotics which can be found in most yogurts will help restore good bacteria in the intestinal tract.

Because many people dont know this, but when you take antibiotics you not only kill off the bad germs but also the good germs your body needs in order to function properly. It sounds to me like she is having stomach problems due to not having enough good flora in her stomach or intestines. A simple remedy I have given to a mom before that helped her little one was to simply buy 'natural yogurt' such as 'Mt. High Yogurt', do not purchase processed yogurt because all the good live bacteria has been taken out. Or you can purchase pro biotics in any health food store or even at Fred Myer's health dept. I think kids will like real yogurt better. Let her eat a little yogurt, whatever flavor she likes, several times a day for about a week and see if her stomach starts to feel better. If it does not, then take her to a naturopath so you can get another opinion besides conventional doctors. But I have a feeling this will help...ok, take care!
