my 5 yr old nephew has been having vommiting spells every 3-4 weeks or so. he doesnt seem sick or act sick.

***l be perfectly fine for weeks then all of the sudden he'll starts vommiting. ***l vomit a few times a day for about 1-2 days and then he'll be fine again for another few weeks. during the days hes vommiting, he doesnt seem at all sick. he plays runs everything. ***l eat but not as much as he usually does on normal days. this has been going on for maybe about 6 months or so.

my sisters has taken him to the dr but it seems that they arent that much help. theyll say its cuz of his athsma and when he coughs thats what makes him vomit. this isnt the case though cuz during those spells his athsma isnt acting up and hes not coughing. then theyll say tha its just the stomach flu. but he doesnt AT ALL seem sick other than the vommiting. ***l even tell me that he feels fine.

has anyone experienced this? could it be a parasite? or an ulcer maybe? (he loves eating hot cheetos and hot chili)

please any feed back would be appreciated. im really concerned for him. also its causing him to miss so much school

thanks everyone!

  • Does he take breathing treatments for asthma? He could possibly have acid reflux.

  • Get a food IgG Elisa panel (food alergy blood test). If your doctor trys to convince you not to get it done for what ever reason then you might want to go where I went, Optimum Health Resource Laboratories, Inc. I paid $300.00 for a home blood test kit I sent in. The other two alergy blood tests my doctor would only give me showed me not to be elergic to anything even though I have been elergic to things since I was a child. The IgG Elisa showed I was deathly over the top elergic to wheat and gluten that caused me to keep vomiting but I wasn't born elergic so I stopped it for nine months then I was cured. A constipation problem for many years caused me to have alergies that I also got rid of. There are many other blood tests your doctor could give or you could find other laboratories.

  • Sounds like a condition called cyclic vomiting syndrome What are the symptoms of CVS?A person who experiences the following symptoms for at least 3 months—with first onset at least 6 months prior—may have CVS:vomiting episodes that start with severe vomiting—several times per hour—and last less than 1 weekthree or more separate episodes of vomiting in the past yearabsence of nausea or vomiting between episodes . Although CVS can begin at any age, in children it starts most often between the ages of 3 and 7. http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/cvs/

That and/or lactose intolerance could be the culprit.
