I have been suffering from rather dehabilitating back pain for the past 5 weeks. It started in my lower back for the first 1.5 weeks. I then developed sciatica on my right side down to my calf muscle, which only lasted about 1 week. Since then my pain has progressed to being in between and across my right shoulderblade and is quite painful. My sciatica has completely gone away now, but i have started feeling fatigued, general weakness and my limbs feel like lead. Im fairly ok in the morning but once it hits mid afternoon, it gets quite bad.
I have had a lumbar xray which showed nothing.
I had a lumbar MRI which showed a slightly buldged disc at L5? I presume this is what my sciatic pain was from but i had this done after that pain had stopped and the disc is not touching any nerves in the mri.
I am progressively on stronger painkillers which only seem to work for 3 hours until the pain is back.
My doctor seems a bit stumped, but has asked me to get a chest xray as he thinks that it may be referred pain.
