hi it all started on boxing day i awoke feeling short of breath felt like i was starting to black out, went to ER they done some blood tests come back fine and sent me home.
A week later lying in bed i got major heart pulpatations the next day i started getting tingling on my left arm like pins and needles and tingling on left side of face along with dizzy spells an fataige, i also started to get a tightning around my throat area but lymph nodes were fine.I went to doctor an had a ecg which come back normal he told me every thing was weight related,im 6ft an 110 kg but of athletic build. The tingling sensations stoped, so i started to train an exercise again even tho i still was getting tightning around throat,i had no pulpatations or shortnes of breath for a couple of weeks but still had a tight throat out of frustration i decided to have a few drinks with friends to stop thinking about it that evening while drinking i got this pain in both my shoulders felt like i was holding heavy weights in my hands,in the morning my shortnes of breath was back and realy bad lasting most of the day.ive got my own stethoscope so i started listining to my heart some times its normal dub dub rythem but some times every maybe ten beats it only has first dub them starts new beat
just 4 days ago i started getting a fluttering feeling in my heart which would seem to take my breath away for a couple of secs , i awoke last night short of breath feels like im suffocating . Im waiting to have a 24 hour heart monitor test that you take home but its gona take weeks it feels like im running out of time i dont no what to do please help.

  • The best, easiest thing it could be, is anxiety. I know, not very sexy. But man, you bill yourself as a 24 year old father of 4? I'd have anxiety, too!So, if it is a heart problem, or if it is anxiety, the very first thing you need to do, is to find a way to calm down. Getting upset over the delay with the Holter monitor is BAD FOR YOU.Most irregular heartbeats are benign, and cause no problems besides making the person wonder what the heck is going on.What was your blood pressure? You don't mention it. Instead of listening to your heart with the stethoscope, if your blood pressure was up at all at the doctor's, buy yourself a blood pressure cuff (they make them completely automatic now...you don't have to know anything but sit still, and put it on the right place, and don't do it too often) and check that when you are getting short of breath. Also, alcohol makes the heart pound faster/harder, so avoid that for now. Same with caffeine. Get off that. If you've been taking in a lot of caffeine, you better taper off, or you'll end up with an enormous headache (for days!) Go down by half every couple days.Remember that caffeine can be in tea, coffee, and lots of soft drinks. Anything else you are doing that could race your heart? Anything else that is going on that could cause anxiety? And what did the doc say was your blood pressure?Best,Shula

  • As the other person suggested, it sounds like pure panic attacks. I started when I was 21 and have all the same syptoms. Stress can cause it. The pain in your shoulders may be from clenching your muscles from stress. You can also get it in your neck and if you work out with heavy weight, even if you don't, you may be clenching your jaw (TMJ) . Son't drink, it makes it worse, the next day. Yeah, you feel great while the alcohol is in you, but afterward, it is all downhill. Have no caffeine, don't smoke, eat chocolate or a lot of sweets . Panic attacks are extremely common. I know at least 20 people that have suffered from them, if not more. Men and woman

  • They are anxiety and panic attacks. If the doctor gave you the all clear, then consider yourself to be ok. Dont let these attacks keep you inside for fear of having one in public - you will become agoraphobic.

  • hi shula thanks 4 ur reply the doctor did say my blood presure was borderline high, and i have considered panic attacks but i seem to become short of breath before i get worried and i could definetley feel heart flutters.and i am sexy thank uOK, so I know this sounds strange, but it is true: your body can react to your stress before your mind notices that you are stressed out. Before you say this doesn't make sense, I'll explain why it does. Think about when humans were back in the bush. It is evening, and you're walking along. You hear little noises behind you, but you haven't processed them yet, and thought "huh? little noises...could they be an animal stalking me?" and before your brain makes sense of the noises, BOOM, the animal pounces.Well, the person who has the early warning system of a heart pumping faster, and the adrenaline kicking in BEFORE they get to the logical conclusion that they need to be ready for fight or flight, is more likely to live. The laid back person, well, that one was more likely to get eaten. So here we are in modern times, with all of our ancestors the ones that had the really well-honed early response program. And, our bodies react to stressors before we become conscious of them. Unfortunately for you, your reaction would get you eaten, because instead of giving you extra energy, it leaves you feeling like you can't breath. This is all not fun, and you should still definitely do the 24 hour monitor, because it is stupid to assume there is nothing wrong with your heart. But when the monitor results come back and say there's nothing wrong, go see a psych for anxiety meds. Something like Zoloft works wonders, if that is what it is.Shula

  • Years ago in the middle of the night I woke with terrible palpatations and a feeling I couldn't breathe convinced I was having a heart attack - I had all the tests which were fine but I was so worried (terrified) it would happen again - that it did happen, again and again, unknowingly I had developed a sort of phobia - the more I dreaded it happening - the palpatations, feeling I couldn't breathe and sure I would die the more it brought it on, a sort of self fore-filling prophecy if you like. It took me months to realise my anxiety and fear were causing it, it was all in my mind bought on by fear. Diazapam helped and beta blockers calmed me down. That was 12 years ago and looking back was caused by a friend giving me an iron tablet and a gin and tonic! mmmm! My advice would be to do a diary and try and work out when the shortness of breath starts, were you worked up? anxious? worried? been thinking about it? Be very honest with yourself and if it's not anxiety - bet it is reading between the lines go back to your doctor and kick some butt - you've only one life none of us are cats and good luck

  • Please do not listen to anything Shula or Acuann tell you. My sister just passed away because Shula and Acuann told her that her doctor was wrong and she did not have a serious condition. Acuann even told her to get acupuncture to get healed. These people are going to be investigated for practicing medicine without a license. Shula and Acuann are specifically wanted in connection with my sisters homocide. Thats right homocide. If she would have listened to her doctor instead of these internet quacks she would still be here today. Rest assured I will do everything in my power to put these two behind bars and shut this website down for good.
