  • What you describe can be a tension headache. The muscles that are very small at the base of your skull (occipitalis) can be tight and causing this without you realizing they are tight. What do you do for a living? Are you normally stressed or is it the constant headache stressing you? A well-qualified massage therapist should be able to help you. Check credential, you need one that has experience and training with myofacial release and neuromuscular therapy. Massage can help--why not give it a try?

  • Is it worst any special time of the day? How is your bite? Do you have contact between all teeth? Have you been evaluated by a good dentist specializing in occlusion problems? Could it be that you’re grinding or clenching your teeth during the night? This can cause tension headache and can be relieved by a splint. The relieve is instant. Good luck! :)

  • Is the pain worse when you bend over? Do you feel the pain behind your eyes? Do you have any sinus problems or nasal congestion? Itchy or watery eyes? What do you do for your work? What do you drink on a daily basis? How is your digestion - gas or bloating or reflux problems? How frequent are your stools? Best wishesDOM

  • I am sorry to hear about your troubling headaches. There is a new line a research that found that the trouble may actually lay in your heart. A defect called patent foramen ovale has been linked to life long headaches. Basically, this is a hole between the right and left sides of the heart that should have self sealed during birth. Yet for migraine sufferers, the hole has been found to be open slightly or all the way. There is a little ubmrella-like device that is threaded into the heart that seals the hole. When this procedure is completed (in an outpatient setting) the years long headaches have ceased. Strange as it sounds, you might need an echocardiogram to properly diagnose your headache. I wish you luck and hope you find your answer somehow.
