HELP! My two year old started limping in may of this year, we took her in and doctor said she had possible Osteomyelitis in her left FIBULA, we did an MRI, a needle biopsy and she was hospitilized for 6 days on IV antibiotic before we could take her home to stay on an antibiotic for 6 weeks ( also her bloodwork was normal in all they tested for ). The limp went away, we assumed the diagnosis was correct. In August (3 months later) we noticed the limp return, took her back, they repeated the MRI and said they notice some activity in the left TIBIA as well and could not confirm or deny that it was osteomyelitis. we went to a specialists who suggested a CT scan which showed more of what the MRI showed, but also some activity in her right TIBIA. Doctors suggested a bone biopsy, bone marrow biopsy and also a full body scan to see if other areas were being affected. all came back normal!!! So she has been in a cast for a month, now the cast is off and of course she is still limping and her leg is turning outward when she walks.
Im wondering if this could possibly have anything to do with her other abnormalities...pelvic kidney, and hemivertibrae. Anyone ever heard of anything so strange? help!
