Our 32 month old son seems to temporarily lose strength/control on his right side. The episodes last about 10 seconds He seems disoriented and dizzy. This has happened 4 times in the last month that we know of. We took him to his pediatrician and she checked all of his reflexes, motor skills etc. and everything was perfect. She recommended monitoring him closely for now rather than a MRI because he would have to be sedated for that. That was 2 weeks ago and no episodes until today. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

  • I'm no expert by any means, but you may want to see a pediatrics neurologists. The loss of muscle tone could be a form of seizure called an Atomic Seizure, and since it is happening on one side of the body it may be a partial seizure, which is a seizure that affects a small part of the brain. The after effects could be something called a poetical state, which is the after effects of a seizure. It may not be what it is, but I hope that reduces your worry about a possible stroke.

  • Oh dear! My friends baby had something just like this around 1 years of age. It was a form of migraine headache that caused seizure. As she grew it got worse and then it got completely better and went away around 2 years of age. They saw all the specialists which you need to do. Do not trust your pediatrician, go to every specialist possible as soon as possible to rule out the worst and if i were you I would get the MRI to make sure it is not something that could be detected with that immediately.

  • Make sure that your child is not eating any processed foods that contain Genetically Modified materials. This would be corn, soy or canola products as well as a few other foods (do the research). These GMOs and their derivatives which are often listed as "hidden" ingredients on labels are highly dangerous to the health and haven't been properly tested. The few studies done on them point to serious health effects such as severe allergies, autoimmune diseases, enlarged organs, toxins, gut permeability, changes to the sperm (including infertility), sudden death among baby rats used in research, kidney and liver problems. Please read Seeds of Deception by Jeffrey Smith to really understand how dangerous they are. I have a link on my website to a downloadable chart listing the hidden ingredients that are GMO. It is at the very bottom of the page.Good luck. I hope your child makes full recovery.http://morgellonsdiseaseawareness.com/diet_and_ph_plus_ph_chart
