Age- 17
My doctor has been less the helpful with this problem that I have been having for 4 years and been getting much worse in the last 2 years. The doctor writes me a medical certificate and sends me away because I look healthy. Blood tests came back low in iron 5 months ago, so I am taking ferro liquid which is the only thing the doctor has given me but I feel no different and the problem isn’t going away.
My mum is also iron deficient, so was my grandmother but neither have had this problem.

My period 1st started when I was 13 I would get diarrhea (at night after eating) 2 days before my period started but after that I would be fine until the next period.
It has been getting worse, I get the diarrhea for a week before my period every night AND morning. It usually continues throughout my period. Also my periods have been shorter, about 2 days and 20 days apart.

I am in my last year of high school and I really don’t want to be missing 2-5 days of school every month because I cant get off the toilet, in pain, bloated and fainting.
The diarrhea does come occasionally when I am nowhere near my period, after eating which seems to be the trigger most of the time.

Any pointers of any specialists I should see or anything I should look up would be appreciated.
