Since early Dec 2009, My 16 yr old son has had non-itchy, non-allergic extreme swelling of left LOWER lip, which recedes within 24 hrs. (Benadryl and ice barely help) then a few days later, his left eye area will do the same. Then a week later his left UPPER lip area will do this.
Allergist/immunologist prescribed epi-pen and said to keep food diary.
He did have his wisdom teeth removed 6 months ago. Is there any connection? Where do we go from here? Thank you in advance.

It might be a good idea to check with a dentist at a possible Dry Socket or Abscess tooth, though your son would likely complain of severe pain in the jaw if this were the case. On top of this it doesn't make sense that his eye would swell. It sounds like the Allergist is on target with the epi-pen and food diary, it seems as if your son is allergic to something. Perhaps look at family members/past family members for their allergies if any?Hope a solution is found soon, I would imagine it isn't the funnest thing to have swelling of that magnitude for a 16yr.
