So I'm a 16 year old female and I have been having these problems. To start off i will tell you I'm 5'3 and i weigh 112 pounds, and here are my symptoms. For a few years now i have been having a pain in my chest like it tightens and it gets hard to breath/swallow (Happens even while im on the computer like now). My heart races and pounds hard, my pupils get huge (where it happend it school this week and my principal asked if i was using drugs) My neck goes red and my body feels as if it is shaking side to side and tilting. Usually when i get these feelings i pass out. I had passed out about a month and a half prior to this and my Doctor made me wear a heart moitor for two weeks and nothing has come back wrong yet. Also i have had two ECG's and it was also fine. The only thing they found was that my iron was low and I've been taking iron pills for about a year now. That would be the only pills i take other then Birthcontrol. The only other thing that happens to my body is my toes and fingers get really cold for no reason, but i cant sleep with socks on or i feel as if im sufficating at night, my doctor just said i have to cover up more and wear gloves. IF you have any opinnions as to what i should do or what it might possibly be. PLEASE reply. Thanks a bunch! :).

  • I think i just wouldnt eat as much as they would of liked.. People say i eat like a bird but i eat many times a day.The tight chest happened before i went on birth control and continues more when im on it. But when it happened in july i just got off my period and started back on birth control on a monday and i passed out on that friday in a clothing warehouse.

  • It wasnt that i needed sleep. it was that i felt like just closing my eyes and just letting my body pass out. But i feel tired all of the time and i dont have any energy. I was told it was due to low iron when i went to the hospital last summer and had a blood test done.. The symptoms you added together are all right.. but i also have dizziness which feels as if im rocking from side to side and tilting.(even when sitting down). And the rash/red marks that show up around my neck, which probably isnt anything.

  • tilting.... weird, the attacks could still be related to hormones, because birth control can mess up your hormones.

  • low iron might explain the period symptoms, or some of them, did the birth control make you stop having your period, or just ease the pms type symptoms?

  • it seems like the iron deficiency could be explained by heavy periods, do heavy periods run in the family?

  • i'm working on it, I'm working on it lol, i think the tilting is a form of vertigo which is either neurological or related to the inner ear, as i think someone else suggested....

  • and by the way the fatigue may also be caused by low iron levels, I'm just working on finding something that causes the bad periods, and at the same time will explain the symptoms not caused by your period

  • your very welcome, ummm.... i was looking at iron deficeincy and it listed the word for prolonged blood loss due to menstrual cycles as a possible cause, then that listed llike a million causes. ok maybe not a million but like 30 something heres that link, i think i may have a faster way to rule these out however, give me a few minutes i'll see what i can do http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/symptoms/menorrhagia/causes.htm
