So I'm a 16 year old female and I have been having these problems. To start off i will tell you I'm 5'3 and i weigh 112 pounds, and here are my symptoms. For a few years now i have been having a pain in my chest like it tightens and it gets hard to breath/swallow (Happens even while im on the computer like now). My heart races and pounds hard, my pupils get huge (where it happend it school this week and my principal asked if i was using drugs) My neck goes red and my body feels as if it is shaking side to side and tilting. Usually when i get these feelings i pass out. I had passed out about a month and a half prior to this and my Doctor made me wear a heart moitor for two weeks and nothing has come back wrong yet. Also i have had two ECG's and it was also fine. The only thing they found was that my iron was low and I've been taking iron pills for about a year now. That would be the only pills i take other then Birthcontrol. The only other thing that happens to my body is my toes and fingers get really cold for no reason, but i cant sleep with socks on or i feel as if im sufficating at night, my doctor just said i have to cover up more and wear gloves. IF you have any opinnions as to what i should do or what it might possibly be. PLEASE reply. Thanks a bunch! :).

  • I'm not sure what to say about the chest tightening and the red neck, but I was wondering if there could be something wrong with your inner ear. I've had an inner ear problem for a few years and my pupils get huge also. When you say you feel like your body is tilting, is it a dizzy feeling? Most people with inner ear problems get the spins, but I feel like I'm on a rocky boat. It took my doctors so long to figure it out because I didn't have the typical symptoms. My toes and fingers are also really cold a lot of the time. They still don't know what I've got - but they think it was an inner ear virus that's left a lot of damage. Do you have any GI symptoms such as nausea? I have trouble swallowing too, but it's usually due to GI upset.

  • Well I'm not to sure if it's an inner ear problem i have had my doctor look inside my ears everytime i've gone to the doctor and they think it's all lies that i'm telling them or I'm faking. I get colds alot also. The feeling of going from side to side is more of a roller coaster feeling but it's as if i can see it like its moving aswell as feel it. This is the first time i had the feeling of passing out while i was sitting down (in math and biology class). And for the GI symptoms, i wasnt sure what that was so i googled it and In the list i seen with things such as... upset stomach, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, gas in the GI tract, or changes in bowel habits (e.g., diarrhea, constipation). I rarely throw up maybe like once every 5-8 years. I havnt seen any change in bowl habits and i dont usually get an upset stomach unless i drink too much milk. All of the other things listed I don't get either.

  • When you mentioned the chest tightening and breathing trouble at the computer, I first thought epilepsy. Have they tested you for seizure disorders? While you may not have fully blown seizures, you can have mini-seizures that feel similar to you, but to others they may not recognize them as seizures.

  • what birth control exactly? These might be side effects, or the symptoms may be worsened by the birth control.

  • also the cold feet and hands could be a symptom of raynauds syndrome, a vascular condition which could indicate an underlying autoimmune or connective tissue disorder. http://www.aolhealth.com/conditions/raynauds-phenomenon?flv=1

  • Sorry to hear about your brother. You give a better family history than some adults on this website. The stiff fingers and toes might be important, i'm glad you mentioned that. I'll see what i can find. Are all the fingers and toes stiff, or just certain ones like index, or just pinky etc?

  • How was your development as a baby? Did you grow all right and walk and talk by somewhere around one? (basically you weren't extremely delayed in anything) Do you have any vision problems such as worsening, blury, or double vision?

  • May I ask, was the birth control to lol control birth or help with things like cramps during your period? Sorry, its a weird question, but if you took birth control because of awful cramps or something that could be important.

  • No I'm not taking/ didnt take it for sex. I had heavy periods which would last a week and the cramps would hurt so bad i had to take tylenol and curl up in the fetal position because it hurt THAT bad, and i was also clotting.
