I have never posted anything before now and feel this is the last hope I may ever have in idenifying what causes my chronic pain. I have experienced joint pain, swelling, tenderness, redness, & knots forming in some joints for years. Without my bloodwork revealing any arthritis or disease, I just can't seem to find out what I have and how to treat it. I had food allergies as a child. I've been told by doctors in the past that I have Interstitual Cystitis, Gerd, Irritable Bowel, Fibromyalgia, asthma, Roscea, & osteoarthritis. My symptons besides joint pain, are itchy skin, red skin, pins & needles feeling all over body, tired all of the time, my face is often hot, any change to detergents or soap causes my itchy feeling to worsen, & using lipsticks make my lips swell and chap. And, when I say joint pain, I mean that I think I need to sell my house and move to one without staircases. If I take Ibuprophen 800 mg 2 times daily, I can move better when I am awake, but I am never awake on that much medicine. Does anyone else have the same symptoms and maybe know what my possible diagnosis is from reading my symptoms?

It sounds probable that you have chemical sensitivities and allergies. However, being someone with Chronic Fatigue Immune System Dysfunction, it is entirely possible that you have this also. There is no easy diagnosis for it but if you google search CFIDS you should be able to find many websites on the condition. The CFIDS Association of America has a great website on which you can take an online survey to see if you match the criteria for the illness. Good luck.

  • I cannot make a diagnosis but i can relate to you.. i have asthma as well but could it possibly be allergies that you're expierencing at some point? Allergies, including food allergies, all show borderline. But, my guess is they still play a major role in my symptoms.

  • Have you been tested for Celiac? No, although my allergy test revealed a borderline reaction to wheat. I'll inquire about the Celiac test.

  • You may want to see my advice at http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=63429 - specific comment http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?p=196056#post196056 - I explained there how well a Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM) doctor helped us, also what diet to try. Tests for Celiac etc are not always reliable. Simply acting on a hunch can do wonders. What your doctors could have tested for is rickettsia - bacterial parasites.

  • welcome to the world of lyme disease. it's not so bad. you can get treated and feel better again. find a good dr preferably assoc with the international lyme and associated disease society, and stay away from infectious disease drs. they will tell you you're crazy. i mean it truly. the alergies are occuring because you have had the bacteria in your body for so long...and i bet you can't even remember getting bit. good luck.
