Had total hip replacement over 2 years ago. Had some pain when overdoing but last week, I experienced moderate pain in the outside of the thigh when standing or walking. It has now progressed to more pronounced pain when walking and the pain seems to be at the top of the hip. No pain when sitting. Extreme pain when trying to turn over in bed. I didn't have an oh-oh moment when this started. Could this just be something that has to heal like a muscle strain. Have you had a hip fail and what were the symptoms? Hope someone can help! Thanks!

I would recommend seeing your physiotherapist for accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms following your hip replacement. It is relatively common for patients to experience aches or pains following a hip replacement that may not be related to the prosthesis failing and can usually be rectified with appropriate treatment. Hope that helps and good luck,
