Hey wasnt sure where to post this on the boards but here goes...
Just under a year ago (feb 2008) I started getting severe pain in my hip and after an x-ray they confirmed I had a fractured neck of femur. Surgery was performed and they used the usual pin and plate method to fix the femoral head in place whilst it heals etc.
I had 6 weeks of non-weight bearing, 6 weeks of partial weight bearing and am now able to walk around freely and generally things seem to be healing well. I've been physically active and doing gym work like squats etc to strengthen my bones aswell as stretches for the muscles in that area.
I still get aches in my hip although I seem to have more pains now in my knee area, is this reffered pain or just an actual problem with my knee strength?
Was just wondering if anyone on here had been through a similar injury, what were your experiences. would you reccomend removal of the plates and pins, how long was your recovery period etc?
any help would be greatly appreciated :)
