I went to the clinic for a follow-up appt for chest pain. My BP was 202/110 and I barely made the stairs to the second floor. I was wisked away by ambulance to the ER where I was admitted to ICU with unstable angina. I went through all the usual heart tests; x-ray, stress, CT scan and blood was taken every two hours to measure enzimes. I was put on an IV with gliceryn, hepron, saline. My BP was monitored every hour. They found NOTHING! I was told there is no blockage and that I could go home. Sure this is good news, but what now??? Some people are telling me that I had a panic attack. I didn't know you can wake from a dead sleep with chest pain. Also, wouldn't you think the doc could tell the difference?? Of course, this was not my regular doc as mine was on vacation.
Now I am doubting the diagnosis. Can a panic attack be wrongly diagnosed as angina??? All replies are welcome.. I'm confused and wanted more info before I go there tomorrow... Thanks
