I was in hospital 4 months ago and diagnosed with Pericarditis .:mad::eek:
I had a cold/flu virus at the time, it was decided that this is where the Pericarditis had come from.
I also developed pleurisy.:eek::eek
Several drugs were tried but finally I was treated with Cochicine and Cortisone.
I improved and was sent home.
6 weeks later and still on my medications (but cutting back on the cortisone every 5 days), I visited my Cardiologist who was very pleased with my progress.:). I am still cutting down on Cortisone as I have had to come off it by just half a mg every 5 days to prevent symptoms returning.
Now I find at 4 mg per day the symptoms are trying to return...(ie) pain in chest and in back of shoulder blade and general unwell feeling, ( I am wondering how long Pericarditis actually can take to leave the body if ever.
Has anyone any knowledge of this one please.
