I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy in February of this year. My heart pumps out at 25% (normal is 55%). My cardiologist wants me to get a defibrillator so he`s referred me to a cardiac unit for a 2nd opinion. I would love to hear from anyone who has had the surgery so I can find out how things are going. I would also really appreciate any helpful advice you may have.
In addition to the cardiomyopathy, I also have serious peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) in my fingers, feet and the bottom 2/3s of my legs. Doctors and specialists have sent me for many tests but they can't find the cause of my problems. If there is anyone out there who has both cardiomyopathy and periferal neuropathy please contact me!
