Hello All,

I'm having a hard time with finding what's going on with my son and it's very alarming. They just seem to want to treat with blood pressure meds but can't seem to give me a medical condition of what's going on.

My son has had high blood pressure for 2 years now. They did an ultrasound of the heart and kidneys and found nothing. They did all the basic hormone tests and found nothing. He's 5/10 weighs 190lbs. He looks healthy and never went to a doctor for anything other than his shots when he was younger and he had a minor head injury with his bike that he had to have stitches when he was 13. Other than that never needed to go to the doctor except a year ago when we went to go get a sports physical for track they wouldn't pass him because his blood pressure ranged from 167/99 or higher and heart rate resting can ranger around 109 and exercise can it can be as high as 159. He has headaches, his hands have shakes and have for some time, he complains of back pain occasionally, he's had acne pretty bad, he's tired alot, physical activity wipes him out. His Cholesterol levels aren't good which is odd cause we grill or bake and he's not obese by any means. He doesn't drink alot but we have been pushing 8-10 glasses of water a day for 3 months now. They have taken more blood and done 24 hour urine tests that we are waiting on plus x-rays of his hands. His Phrenology doctor says they can't find anything but the Endocrinology doctor is still looking because his blood pressure has not went down even with the treatment of blood pressure medications.

Here's some of his test results.
Testerone m3:368
Cortisol UG CRT:20.12
DHEA Sulfate:89
Hemoglobin Alc:4.6

Not sure if spelling is correct but that's what we have so far and no answers. Does anybody have any information they can give me or gone through this?? Please help!!

  • Hi there,Have they checked his thyroid function, (TSH, T4 free, T3) levels? I had mine checked several times, it's always a wacky result. It sounds like he might have something going on with his thyroid. Fast heart and high blood pressure can be a result of hyperthyroidism in young men. Have them check for swelling and check the adrenal glands as well.Zenica
