I have been having a similar problem for many years. I am a usually healthy 18 year old female. I play soccer nearly year round and use to never get sick. Starting around my junior year in high school i started experiencing severe migrains in the back of my head and in both temples nearly daily. I went to get and MRI and it came back normal. i started going to a neurologist and he put me on tons of different medicines to try to help the migraines. Nothing helped. I then started experiencing a daily headache in the back of the head. He suggested that I go get my eyes checked because I might be straining. I got glasses and wear them, and still get migraines. sometimes I get total numbness in my left hand and arm, and begin getting black spots in the center of my vision. its extremely painful, and stops me from doing anything. I went to my first year of college this year and ended up having a series of different illnesses. I started with a sinus infection, then kidney infection, pneumonia, and lately bronchitis and upper respiratory infection. also have had MANY ear infections and have a constant pain in my ears and sometimes trouble hearing....I cannot seem to get my neurologists to run any tests on me because he says everything is normal. can anyone please help me!?!

  • It's extremely frustrating isn't it? I can relate. I haven't had the same line of problems, but have had my share of doctors not seeming to be able (or want) to help. When my head problems began my first neurologist was really crappy. REALLY crappy. I saw him twice and decided someone else needed to help me. Although I'm not "all better" I a least now have someone that wants and is trying to help. It took a lot of appointments to get here though. As a last resort I decided to go to a pain management specialist, at least until someone could help....he's the one who actually started helping.I have always been amazed that how even the smallest problem in one part of the body can wreck some many other parts and functions throughout the rest. Have you gone to an audiologist to check your ears? They can do more than just look in your ears. My son needed to go because of strep 4times, bronchitis 2times, double ear infections 5times, and 1 bout of scarlet fever (yes! it's still around) all in under 7months. He of course had is tonsils and adenoids removed and has not had anything since. (----Please don't let this be a jinx----)As for you getting ill so much... :( ... it could be from all the exposure at college, especially if you are in the dorms. The whole thing about keeping our hands clean seems like nagging, but it really does help so much (instant sanitizer is great!). Also, if you are a normal college student, your eating habits may not be supporting your body well.If you have a regular doctor who has not been able to help, ask for a suggestion of another TYPE of doctor who may be able to piece it all together. You might even consider calling on a rheumatologist. Maybe calling the office of one, briefly tell you aliments, and ask if a doctor there may be able to work with you. If that doctor doesn't work with what you tell them they should let you know, and may even be able to point you into a better direction.I hope something here is of some help for you. Whatever is going on is probably not going to be an overnight or one pill fix. I do pray you find yourself in better health soon.;)
