Hi back in october of last year i was rear ended by a girl going 60 mph i was at a stop. Since then i get severe headaches and back pains. My doc has given me lortabs, flexerills and naproxen. Those do not work. the last time I was in to see my doc he gave me some stuff called neurogesic forte, They seem to make my headaches not as bad, but its still there. I have had xrays, cts and finally got a MRI done on my head and neck. I see a physical therapist once in a while but mostly a chiropractor. My head feels like its heavy and i cant move my head with out pain. I wake up with it and i go to bed with the pain. Its so bad Im onry at home and at work when im at work. Then i started biting my tongue on nights I have severe headaches. I think my general doc thinks im crazy. I do have an appointment to see a neurologist this month. Can anyone maybe help with this annoying daily problem im suffering from?

  • I too have had a constant headache for about a year. I have been on many medications, but finally discovered that it was stress. Really bad tension in my neck, shoulder, and back. I had to take muscle relaxers on top of seeing a physical therapist. They can show you some techniques to strengthen up your core. They can move their hands on your abdomen and you feel an instant rush and your headache is gone, but it will only stay that way if you do the exercises. Good luck! You may have injured yourself or pulled something during the accident that is causing this tension.

  • Does your chiro also have someone that does massage in his office? When I was rear ended I tried physical therapy, but it didn't help so I went to a chiropracter. That helped a little, but he said my problems (severe upper back, neck and head pain) seemed to be stemming from the muscles in my very upper back and neck. The office has a staff massage therapist so he had me start seeing her 3 days a week. I started feeling much better after a couple of weeks.

  • can you elaborate on some the doctor presses on your abdomenon, causing your headache to go away? Sounds very effective. And also what is the brand of muscle relaxants you took?

I also have been treated with meds, physical therapy, and still have syptoms although not quite as acute. AND I have had all of the xrays, cts and MRIs with nothing showing up on them. If you also have problems with your vision and/or balance, I would definately do some research into basal migraines. It has made a world of differance for me!
